What I Believe!
I am running for State Senator because I have had enough of what is going on in Frankfort and in our nation’s capitol. I have been praying and listening to God and following His direction in my life and in the life of my family. This is a new position that God has opened up for me; I believe that we have comfortable seasons in our lives. I have stepped out in the past, but not to this level. I understand that He will not give me anything that I cannot handle. I understand that this is a new chapter in our life and want to strive for the best that I can do for His glory. This has been a goal for me that God has laid on my heart for the past 10 years.
I believe in the family, community – community service, education and the American Dream. If you work hard then ANYTHING is POSSIBLE.
I believe in family, family values and marriage as defined as one man and one wife. I believe in the traditional family and the values it fosters that are the foundation of our American society and their preservation is essential to our Nation's continued success.
Albert Einstein once said "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results". Think about this quote for a second and ask yourself, does this quote apply to the way that our state or even our counrty is being currently ran?
"If It Ain't Broke Then Don't Fix It”, Mentality has gotten us in this current situation. We need to be proactive and not reactive to many of the issues that are currently facing us, such as the educational bankruptucy in our schools today. The current educational system needs to be over-hauled. There are many schools within the state lines that are struggling to meet the state and national benchmarks.
My two Issues or Bigs Rocks that I will strengthen during my term will be EDUCATION and JOBS! As I have already mentioned our education system needs help. Let’s give back the classroom to the teachers, hold the students and the parents accountable for what they do or don’t do. The other important topic is JOBS! We have lost factories, stores and other service related businesses. We need to open our communities to other possible employers such as the technology field.
Listed are some items that I believe in!
I am a Pro Life advocate. Without Life NOTHING else matters! How can anyone debate that issue?
It is imperative today to re-affirm the traditional freedoms and values of America to preserve our great Republic. I stress that public servants must be held accountable to high standards of ethical conduct. If we can look at those that have been in office and has not had high standards – it has trickled down into America. This is what is partly wrong with our society now. Thomas Jefferson said, “If a man cannot be trusted with the government of himself, can he be trusted with the government of other?”
I believe that ALL Americans can enjoy the rights and freedoms of our country without diminishing the rights of others.
I believe that parents have the right to determine the values with which their children will be raised and to have the widest possible choice among public, private and religious schools and that competition will improve public education.
I believe we must retain those principles worth retaining, yet always be receptive to new ideas with an outlook broad enough to accommodate thoughtful change and varying points of view.
I believe that Americans value and should preserve their feeling of national strength and pride, and at the same time-share with people everywhere a desire for peace and freedom and the extension of human rights throughout the world.
I believe in equal rights and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, age, sex or national origin. I believe that persons with disabilities should be afforded equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunities as well.
I believe that the free enterprise system is the most effective engine of economic progress. If we allow this it will stimulate growth and a positive economy for all.
I believe that the proper function of government is to do for the people those things that have to be done but cannot be done, or cannot be done as well by individuals, and that the most effective government is government closest to the people.
I believe that good government is based on the individual and that each person’s ability; dignity, freedom and responsibility must be honored and recognized. Benefit programs should not be available automatically on application but should require proof of actual need, and should wherever possible be designed to promote the skills and habits of work that will make beneficiaries ultimately self-sufficient. Help if necessary, but give parameters to encourage self-sufficiency.
I believe in: Promoting Economic Prosperity, Preserving Civil Rights, Educating our Children, Strengthening our Families and Communities, Protecting Public Safety, Strengthening the Rule of Law, Enjoying and Protecting our Natural Resources, Making Government Smaller and Better, Defending America at Home and Abroad.
Together, we can do extraordinary things, in the state of Kentucky and in our country. We desperately need to make a change! Its time to make sacrifices and take back our State and Country! Are you with me? We can make a difference! Change doesn’t happen without making sacrifices!
Change plus SACRIFICE equals a BETTER PLACE FOR OUR KIDS TO LIVE, GROW UP AND Stay within our wonderful state of KENTUCKY!
